The soul of a jazz club: Tony Rosales

In Artist of the Month on January 9, 2016 at 12:14 pm

Dear friends,

Happy new year to all of you!

This time I would like to bring the light on what I call “the soul of a jazz club”. You know, these musicians hidden by a piano in a corner of a club. Without them, no music, with them, we feel like home! This month I present you Tony Rosales. He grew up in Long Island, New York but it’s in Carolina that he continued to cultivate his sound. You can listen to him 6 evenings per week in the Midtown Bistro in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He has a new album and I like so much the titles :

Do not hesitate to have a look at his complete new album on the following link : Album

Tony, I wish you the best for 2016 and I hope you will continue to play, improvise and create music for a long time with your golden fingers!

BIVOAC in Belgium!

In Few written notes on August 24, 2015 at 7:30 pm

Dear friends,

BIVOAC is a group that plays Celtic music mixed with manouche style and banjo, some jazz notes and a pure traditional style. This is a jazz blog… So why do I present this group? Because jazz is a result of so many influences that sometimes it’s good to go back to your roots :-).

If you are in Belgium, lucky you ! You will have the privilege to take part of this incredible musical show. Don’t miss it!

You will listen to :

Ronan Le Gouriérec – saxophone baryton, bombarde
Ronan Robert – diatonic accordion, voice
Raphaël Chevalier – violin, banjo
Laurent Carré – saxophone ténor
Jean-Marie Nivaigne – drums
Jean-Louis Pommier – trombone
Geoffroy Tamisier – trumpet

Program:

Saturday 29 August 2015 at 4 pm in Wilrijk near Antwerp ( http://www.sterkonversterkt.be/node/32)
Sunday 30 August 2015 at 8.30 pm at Boombal Festival in Lovendegem near Ghent (http://www.boombal.be/)

Enjoy !

Dear friends,

France is a country where nothing is impossible that’s why the blues of the voice of Pierre Sybille will be hosted in a castel :-). Culture can be everywhere if some people want to develop and share their art. Be ready from 16th of January to live the experience of “Jazz au Château” !
