Cognac: when France has a passion for jazz and blues (30 June – 6 July 2014)

In Festivals, jazz on June 16, 2014 at 10:25 pm

Dear Friends,

Sarah Letor, a Belgian jazz singer with a lot of oomph, informed me of her participation on the Cognac Jazz Festival in France.

I’m sure that some of you know the historical spirit drink that has made this city (of less than 20 000 inhabitants) so famous. Now you have a second reason to visit it ! For its 21 edition , the accent will be put on blues. Incredible talents will be on stage: the GREAT George Benson, Steven Seagal, the incredible Leyla McCalla (Haitian-New Orleans-Cajun heritage), Taj Mahal well known for his senor blues, and many many others…

Please look at the program, you will definitely fall in love with France! I know that it’s during the Mundial of Football… but in France we have electricity AND digital TV’s :-). No excuses !

Enjoy,

Céline

Breaking news : album release of Sarah Letor on May 13th 2013 and private showcase on May 17th 2013 !!

In Artist of the Month, jazz, Jazz Singers of the month on May 4, 2013 at 7:54 pm

Dear friends,

If some jazz tunes/songs are simply perfect, I have to share them with you ! I have had the pleasure to see a concert of Sarah Letor, what a revelation ! This Belgian artist proposes us plenty of jazz songs in different styles. Two of them are “Again” and “Sitting on the white cloud”. These little precious songs should certainly become the next jazz standards and should be an excellent music for a fragrance or be used for marketing. Beside both of them, you can find the bluesy/soul “Your home” or  a New Orleans style with “Whenever”.

This second album is an incredible source of inspiration. Sarah looks like a Betty Boop, big smile, generous, happy and hard worker.

Listen and enjoy !

When jazz and blues make it good !

In Few written notes on January 4, 2013 at 11:44 am

Pierre, one of our jazz friends begins 2013 very well ! Not for his own account but to help children in Senegal (Africa). We know the links between Pierre and Africa, his ability to play jazz and blues, and now, it’s time to open the world for another challenge !

Light In Senegal is a Blues’ Up charity song to increase awareness of street children across the world.
