Jazz in an improbable place: a castel in France (Ville d’Avray)

In Festivals, jazz on January 13, 2015 at 11:51 am

Dear friends,

France is a country where nothing is impossible that’s why the blues of the voice of Pierre Sybille will be hosted in a castel :-). Culture can be everywhere if some people want to develop and share their art. Be ready from 16th of January to live the experience of “Jazz au Château” !

Enjoy!

Jazz festival in French Brittany : Jazz aux écluses 19-21 sept. 2014

In Festivals, jazz on September 9, 2014 at 1:32 pm

Dear friends,

70 years ago, our liberators crossed the French territory. This moment of history is the opportunity to honor jazz as the music of freedom during the 7th edition of Jazz aux écluses in Hédé-Bazouges.

More than a cliché, this festival proposes to listen to the roots of Haitian Jazz, to remember Martin Luther King… Jazz aux écluses is not only for adults, there are some animations for the children, one of them concerns the art of cup songs.

Located between Rennes and Dinan, it would be better for you to take few days more to discover this beautiful region. Jazz, culture, history, popular traditions, what else?

I’m sure that you will enjoy your stay!

Saint Jazz ten noode, a jazz festival in the heart of Brussels 12-13 sept. 2014

In Festivals, jazz on September 9, 2014 at 8:40 am

Dear friends,

It’s my pleasure to announce you that Brussels, the capital of Europe, will move with jazz rhythms next week-end.

The smallest commune of Brussels, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, changes her name into Saint Jazz ten noode, because everything will be do-be-do-be-do :-).

Please find here the program. One of my favorites is Sal La Rocca, he is one of the best double bass players in Belgium.

Enjoy !

Cognac: when France has a passion for jazz and blues (30 June – 6 July 2014)

In Festivals, jazz on June 16, 2014 at 10:25 pm

Dear Friends,

Sarah Letor, a Belgian jazz singer with a lot of oomph, informed me of her participation on the Cognac Jazz Festival in France.

I’m sure that some of you know the historical spirit drink that has made this city (of less than 20 000 inhabitants) so famous. Now you have a second reason to visit it ! For its 21 edition , the accent will be put on blues. Incredible talents will be on stage: the GREAT George Benson, Steven Seagal, the incredible Leyla McCalla (Haitian-New Orleans-Cajun heritage), Taj Mahal well known for his senor blues, and many many others…

Please look at the program, you will definitely fall in love with France! I know that it’s during the Mundial of Football… but in France we have electricity AND digital TV’s :-). No excuses !

Enjoy,

Céline
