They don’t have the village vanguard!? Arguably THE most famous jazz club!
Of course Neil ! The Vanguard is listed in Manhattan :-). But you’re right, this is one of the best jazz clubs in the world !
Tula’s in seattle is one of the best. It should be listed!
Thank you Mark, I will follow your advice !
Brass House in Austin TX opened Feb of 2013 but is already known as a classy jazz lounge. brasshouseaustin.com
Dear Liz, Thank you for this add !
Hi there! Do you use Twitter? I’d like to follow you
if that would be okay. I’m definitely enjoying your blog and look forward to new updates.
Dear Niki,
Thank you for your comment :-).

Celine, Sadly, Le Cochon Noir in Philadelphia closed.
Gloria
Thank you so much for this info Gloria ! You’re right, that’s so sad when a place can’t stay open… I hope they will have the chance to open back later !
A great place to listen to world class jazz in NYC is the literally underground club Jackson Room. Jackson Room features the music of the renowned Ed Jackson Quartet and featured Jazz vocalists and instrumentalist. It is a quaint club with a rich jazz sound. This club should definitely be listed.
This isn’t a jazz list without Kansas City! The Blue Room – always listed among the top jazz venues world-wide by DownBeat magazine – http://Club.AmericanJazzMuseum.org
Dear Chris, Thank you for your comment. Can you tell us if this club respects these 3 conditions: – treat musicians very well (paid/network opportunities) – treat the public well without asking money all the time – good program and good musical quality
Thank you for your feedback! Céline
The Davenport Lounge in New Orleans is probably the best in the city. I didn’t see it on the list. You should check it out.
Jazz St. Louis (St. Louis, MO) is an incredible club that brings in some of the best artists in the nation, with an education and outreach component that takes jazz programs into local schools (for free) and gives high school students the amazing experience of working with some of these artists. They just completely renovated their club (it’s beautiful and acoustically amazing) and created space for the education program to grow and expand as well. Please check them out! jazzstl.org
Thank you Stephanie! This is exactly what this blog is talking about ! Many many thanks to you for this information.
Stephanie, can you send us the link of the website of this place ?
